🌟 Board Member Feature: Meet Sonal! 🌟

At Girls on the Run Greater Houston, we’re lucky to have incredible leaders on our Board who bring passion, dedication, and heart to our mission. This month, we’re excited to feature Sonal, who brings her love of running and her belief in the power of community to the work we do every day.

Sonal describes herself as an introvert, but also as someone deeply passionate about running. Over the years, she’s discovered that running groups have become more than just places to train—they’ve been supportive communities where friendships grow and encouragement flows freely. That sense of belonging and empowerment is what inspired her to get involved with Girls on the Run.

“I am lucky to be involved with GOTR. As an introverted person very passionate about running, I have found over the years that my running groups have been a great community and support system. That’s what inspired me to become involved with GOTR… an awesome organization that brings out the best in girls so that they can be the amazing women they are meant to be.”Sonal

Her story reminds us that empowerment can take many forms—sometimes it’s crossing a finish line, sometimes it’s finding your people, and sometimes it’s simply discovering your own inner strength. For the girls in our program, GOTR provides all three.

We’re so grateful for Sonal’s leadership and her commitment to helping us create a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential.
